TITLE: VAN DRIVER
QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Safely drives a school van on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules,
loading and unloading students at designated locations.
2. Transports students, teachers and others on school field or activity trips.
3. Inspects assigned van on a daily basis prior to transporting of passengers to ensure that van is in good, clean and
safe condition.
4. Cleans and refuels van as needed.
5. Reports all mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents, promptly.
6. Maintains order an proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.
7. Maintains and submits records and reports as required.
8. Follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to ensure student safety.
9. Attends driver training programs as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children
10.Establish and maintain positive and cooperative professional relationships with students, parents, co-workers, and
administration enhancing the overall safety and efficiency of the school transportation system.
11. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

SALARY: Classified Salary Schedule – Category 4
EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Transportation
