Are you a highly-organized individual who gets jazzed up about revenue cycles and physician billing? PCHC is looking for a Billing Technician II to join our dynamic and growing team! This forward-facing position collaborates across clinics to accurately process charges and batch as appropriate. As an experienced physician billing professional, you’ll serve as a mentor to billing staff, providing education and training around billing and revenue cycle processes. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (Remote position. Candidate must be eligible per PCHC's Telecommuting Policy.)

Highlights of the position:

  • Provides excellent customer service to our patients, staff, and external customers by demonstrating respect, empathy, and proficiency in the billing field. 
  • Efficiently processes assigned facility charges, ensuring accuracy based on payer and coding guidelines. Batches all claims for assigned facilities and files secondary claims to the proper payer.
  • Follows up on all outstanding non-rejected claims according to status matrix guidelines.
  • Serves patients telephonically for matters pertaining to billing. Resolves patient questions and/or researches claims and reports back to patient in a timely manner.
  • Works with patients to negotiates payment plans for balances as appropriate, while treating them with kindness and dignity. Consistently works towards goal of outstanding A/R reduction.
  • Serves as a mentor and lead contact for the Billing Team, providing support, and payer-specific training.
  • Supports clinics by answering billing-related questions, providing training and education specific to revenue cycle as needed.
  • Engages and supports patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care and experience. Strategizes with teams to improve the patient experience and billing processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational certification required.
  • Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of physician billing experience in a health care organization required.
