OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring a DC Picker of Animal Feed (Full-Time) - Pierre, SD Distribution Center Near Pierre, SD

Distribution Center Picker of Animal Feed are responsible to prepare product for shipment to the retail locations and/or receive product from vendors. Specifically, they are responsible for building pallets of animal feed to be shipped to various locations. This requires the ability to lift/move bags of feed (up to 50 pounds) manually on a routine & regular basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
  2. Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
  3. Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
  4. Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
  5. Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
  6. Cross check quantities to packing slip, making necessary notations when needed.
  7. Load merchandise onto proper pellet, shrink wrap when necessary.
  8. Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits
  9. Put merchandise away into proper bin locations.
  10. Complete daily pick orders for all stores.
  11. Rotate stock in bins; first in – first out.
  12. Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
  13. Operate fork-lifts, reach trucks, and/or pick machines.
  14. Manage bin inventories and notify manager of discrepancies.
  15. Routine daily maintenance of lift trucks.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Computer skills required
  2. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  3. Long periods of standing
  4. Frequent bending and twisting

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
