Jackman Community Health Center is in need of a full-time Physician with OMT experience strongly preferred or experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to work in their highly unique primary care and urgent care facility. About Jackman Community Health Center:

  • Supporting a small, close-knit community with this role being an integral part of the town. 
  • Flexible scheduling options that include part- or full-time availability. 
  • Collaboration with the specialized Paramedicine program that supports acute care for the Jackman area 24 hours a day. 
  • An experienced and highly dynamic team on-site that manages day to day operations including schedule management and clinical support. 
  • Collaboration with a designated care manager that assists with medication management, monitoring of conditions and hospital, post-op discharge support.
  • Focus on services that include prevention, treatment, and education of injury and illness. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of the professional medical practice and care to give and evaluate patient care.
  2. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
  3. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  4. Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care. Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpreting findings.
  5. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
  6. Skill in developing and maintaining quality assurance. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  7. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  8. Ability to communicate clearly.
  9. Ability to work independently in an isolated setting.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with a Maine State license to practice medicine and have a valid DEA number.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Family Medicine within three (3) years of completing a Family Medicine Residency required.
  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program.
  • Current license to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the State of Maine.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Will have up-to-date training and certification in Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute. Most obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
