ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to being the primary contact for Employee Engagement for the organization, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the essential functions and duties listed below:
A. Assist with the administration and operation of human resource activities for all locations.
B. Set priorities, initiate new projects, recommend solutions, and issue directives regarding human resource needs.
C. Ensure legal compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, standards and guidelines.
D. Represent the company in complaints, lawsuits, and other employee relation activities as needed.
E. Perform employee relations functions and work pro-actively with managers to develop strategies for the resolution of human resource issues such as inappropriate employee behavior, performance issues, investigations, etc.
F. Assist managers from all locations in the advertising, recruitment and hiring of employees.
G. Actively participate in the analysis, review and renewal of the company employee benefit plans.
H. Create and maintain job descriptions that are compliant with state and federal FLSA and ADA requirements.
I. Create, publish, and distribute the quarterly Company newsletter to all employees.
J. Administer the Company Service Award Program.
K. Manage the documentation process for all employees to include background checks, drug testing program, new employee paperwork, I-9 process, and employee file maintenance.
L. Create and maintain record keeping systems for insurance requirements, performance evaluations, wage changes, etc.
M. Administer the FMLA program for all assigned locations.
N. Works closely with Store Managers to ensure fair treatment and equitable application of company policy and procedures for employees.
O. Conduct investigations as needed regarding harassment or other employee relations issues.
P. Assist in the Safety programs of the company and create programs that promote safety in the workplace for all locations in the company.
Q. Conduct wage/benefit surveys, when necessary, within each labor market and make recommendations for competitive wage rates.
