Lead Data Scientist
A global physical commodities client is seeking a strong Data Scientist with North American Power Markets experience to join their data analytics team. This is a permanent role that is onsite 3 days/week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex datasets used to make decisions regarding real-world applications.
- Investigate the applicability of new approaches to business problems and trading strategies by combining theory and experimentation.
- Anticipate and consider risks when building machine learning solutions to support the power trading business.
- Communicate complex issues clearly while driving broader organizational action.
- Collaborate with Market Risk, Trading and Scheduling teams to develop and implement machine learning models.
- Communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders across the organization, including non-technical audiences.
- Mentor and train junior data scientists while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Science
- Experience working in a physical power trading platform
- Deep understanding of mathematical and statistical principles
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
