$5,000 HIRING BONUS (Prorated by FTE)

  • Benefits include:

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM; this position serves two residential locations Hazel Center (Medford) and Ramsey Place (Grants Pass)

Overview

The Janitor for residential facilities provides routine cleaning and light maintenance at facilities owned and /or managed by the agency. Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition. Cleans, sanitizes and restocks supplies in restrooms. Performs heavy cleaning, such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpet, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.

Responsibilities

Cleans, sanitizes and restocks supplies in restrooms.

Collects and disposes of trash.

Safely maneuvers heavy objects, including furniture and appliances.

Maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Mops, buffs and waxes floors.

Vacuums carpeting.

Dusts and polishes furniture and counters.

Washes windows.

Properly handles cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies.

Complies with safety regulations.

Maintains material safety data sheets (MSDS) in OSHA required log.

Maintains OSHA required spill kits for the clean up of hazardous materials.

Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, hearing protection, or gloves where there is a hazard.

Qualifications

Six months of janitorial or maintenance experience or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the essential functions listed above. Some knowledge of working with people with disabilities.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to transport clients. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

Possess mature attitude and sensitivity to the needs of people who have a chronic mental illness; understanding of HIPAA laws regarding confidentiality of privileged information; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to work independently and with staff as agency needs dictate.
