Quantitative Developer / Risk Strat – Energy Trader - Houston

Job Description:

As a front-office Quant Developer / Risk Strat with exceptional Python skills you help build an enterprise risk (bumping) engine. Asset classes include electricity, gas, coal, crude oil, LPG, or carbon emissions certificates. This role is a mix of leadership and individual contributor in equal measure.

In this role you will have an affinity for risk modelling and quantitative finance. Core elements:

• Develop a deep understanding of trading / deal structures and risk management concepts
• Contribute to Python Development
• Participate and contribute to design discussions and code review processes
• Manage all deliverables and stakeholders relationships (c-suite / Traders)

Qualifications (Essential):

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Maths or equivalent
• Excellent understanding of derivative risk concepts including option pricing and Greek risk measures
• 5 years developing with Python on enterprise-level solutions
• A background in energy trading / commodities
