Job Summary

Optomi, in partnership, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forecasting, as well as general expertise in regression, classification, clustering, etc.. This role involves designing and implementing advanced data models, developing actionable insights from complex datasets, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data science, with a focus on forecasting, regression, classification, and clustering.

Key Responsibilities

• Time Series Forecasting: Develop and implement advanced forecasting models to predict future trends, demand, and other key metrics. Utilize time series analysis and other techniques to deliver accurate and actionable forecasts.

• Model Development: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models for regression, classification, and clustering tasks. Apply techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, and neural networks.

• Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, correlations, and insights. Use statistical methods and data visualization tools to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Feature Engineering: Identify and create relevant features to enhance model performance. Apply dimensionality reduction techniques and perform feature selection to improve model efficiency and accuracy.

• Model Evaluation: Assess model performance using appropriate metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall, AUC-ROC, RMSE). Perform cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, and other optimization techniques to ensure robustness and reliability.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R (preference for Python) and libraries.
• Professional experience in time series analysis and forecasting methods.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) – preference for AWS
• Expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost).
• Strong experience with SQL and data manipulation tools.
