The Position

Opuntia Cannabis is looking for an Assistant Gardener to support day to day plant management in our cultivation facility in Boulder, Colorado. The main focus of this position will be learning and implementing plant management techniques as taught by our leadership team to ensure healthy plants from seed to harvest. This person will be assisting the Cultivation Manager to ensure that plant rotation schedules are maintained, and that products produced meet the company’s standard of quality.

A successful candidate will have a willingness to learn, work well with guidance from others, and be passionate about the cultivation and care of plants. No prior experience in the cannabis industry necessary.

This role reports to the Cultivation Manager.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Setting and maintaining watering schedules as supplied by leadership
• Identifying, maintaining, and applying nutrient mix as directed
• Supporting cultivation manager with care of plants as directed
• Supporting a healthy garden from clones, vegetative phase, flower phase and harvest
• Executing CDA approved Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols
• Tracking supplies
• Meet the facility needs for compliance with all current state, county and city regulations as directed by leadership
• Detailed tracking of progress with logs, apps and/or spreadsheets.
• Maintaining accurate data for state seed-to-sale tracking software (METRC)

Duties may include:

• Transporting cannabis and cannabis products

Skills/Experience needed:

• Working knowledge or a willingness to learn Metrc
• Willingness to learn the principles of growing cannabis is accordance with company policy

License/Certification:

• Colorado Cannabis Industry Employee Badge (Required), or ability to get one
