Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys working with data and building data platforms from the ground up using microservices architecture. Our ideal candidate is passionate about microservice architecture, data management in the cloud, and using technology to transform business processes and analytics. This position is hybrid, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, and is based in McLean, VA.

You will be part of a group that supports a variety of internal customers. You will analyze, design, and develop data storage and data analytic solutions using data lake patterns, helping our customers run more effective operations and make better business decisions.

Your Impact:

• Support internal customers, utilizing all skills in your toolkit to analyze, design, and develop microservices-based apps focusing on cloud data storage and analytic solutions using data lake patterns.
• Understand User Stories, participate in analysis, design applications based on System User Stories and Architecture, prototype if necessary, develop, unit test, and deploy the application.
• Build purpose-built services-based solutions using Java/Spring Boot frameworks, Docker, and AWS managed Kubernetes.
• Support what you build, including providing fixes to production defects. Quickly evaluate defects, investigate causes, and develop solutions to remediate.
• Support building services practices within the team.
• Build UIs using Angular, CSS/SCSS, and HTML.

Qualifications:

• Master/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
• 5-8 years of relevant full-stack professional experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in the design and development of applications and web services using Java and Spring Boot.
• 3-5 years of experience in UI Angular(9.x or above) development. 
• 3-5 years of AWS experience with various services including S3, EMR, Lambda.
• 3-5 or more years of experience working in Agile, Lean/Kanban, or Scrum-based Agile organizations. Proven track record using Lean/Agile delivery practices to improve teams, quality, and reliability.
• Experience applying TDD, BDD, and Static Code analysis to improve quality and reliability of delivery.
• Java presentation frameworks experience – Angular or similar frameworks.
• Integration experience using Web Services / REST.
• Experience in code delivery pipelines and tools like Gradle, Jenkins, Spinnaker.
• Preferred experience with PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of current trends in the Data Engineering domain.
• Proven understanding of software design principles.
