Orange County Government is Hiring an IT Support Analyst II Near Hillsborough, NC

The Orange County Information Technology Department has an opening for a IT Support Analyst II. This is a technical position responsible for working in a team environment with the primary responsibility of acting as the first line of response to provide computer support for users on a variety of desktop, laptop, and server related issues including identifying, researching and resolving technical problems locally and remotely, and responding to telephone calls, email and requests for technical assistance. An employee in this class will provide service-oriented technical support and/or training for a variety of hardware, software, operating systems, and networks. The classification differs from that of an Information Technologies Support Analyst I due to the expanded scope of support required and responsibilities of the position.
 
Work is performed under the general direction of the Help Desk Supervisor with leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding customer needs and requests. Supervision over others is not required of this position. Position does related work as required and assigned.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer information technology, computer technology integration, networking technology or closely related field AND three (3) years of technical experience in an enterprise customer support environment; OR
 
An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
 
All offers of employment are conditioned upon successful clearance of a background check. Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared.
