Orange County Public Schools is Hiring a GLOBAL FAMILY WELCOME CENTER GRANT FUNDED MANAGER Near Orlando, FL

Salary Schedule
To impact student academic performance by establishing effective communication between home and school. Improve community outreach and support training opportunities for parents and families of students in grades Pre-K-12.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience with project management preferred. Hospitality, business management, public relations, non-profit or similar field preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience coordinating and facilitating workshops, seminars, parent engagement activities, or similar events
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills in English and any other language.
  • One (1) year of working experience providing technical assistance and training to individuals and groups.
  • Experience planning family engagement events and working closely with non-profit community organizations, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust be detail-orientated and have the ability to multi-task, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of best practices in research-based parent and family engagement strategies and adult learning. Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and work towards the district goals and objectives. Ability to create, plan, and conduct professional learning and training for families, community members, teachers, and administrators, in person and virtually. Ability to prepare and monitor unit and project budgets. Ability to prepare and monitor compliance grant reports. Knowledge and ability to use, create, manipulate, and analyze data within spreadsheet and database systems. Ability to work and communicate effectively with people and communicate effectively with strong writing skills. Ability to understand the importance of teaching and learning and driven to achieve success of the students and families. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of Microsoft and virtual learning software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSDescribes physical conditions of this position.

Indoors and Outdoors The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
  • Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization and management tasks.
  • Support district events occurring outside of regular duty hours.
  • Assist Multilingual Services Department leadership in developing and executing large-scale district professional learning events.
  • Provide Multilingual Services leadership through participation in collaborative working groups, including cross-department projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate procedures for the OCPS Welcome Center’s grant, contract, and projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate the compliance and monitoring process for assigned grants and projects. Work with and through people to develop compliance and accountability systems to ensure program compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate with marketing and media staff to promote and publicize the OPCS Welcome Center.
  • Analyzes material usage data and reports findings to management.
  • Develops strategic models for inventory management.
  • Develops and manages budgets, adjusting for efficacy and/or quality.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines, executive limitations, the districts instructional initiatives, and the school district’s charter guidelines.
  • Responsible for making hiring recommendations. Provide mentoring and guidance to classified staff. Able to problem solve and provide continuous, constructive feedback.
  • Regularly monitor, evaluate and assess staff performance. Create specific, measurable goals for direct report. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively.
  • Follow the district’s policies as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTNon-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
