Job Details Job Location High School - Orange, CA Position Type Seasonal Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Job Shift Any Job Category Education Description POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Director of Aquatics, instructs student-athletes in the fundamentals of swim, preparing them for competition. Assists the head coaches in supervising and coordinating all levels of the program and is responsible for helping to coordinate all instructional and administrative aspects of the program. Reports to: Director of Aquatics Supervises : None ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide support to head boys' and girls' swim coaches when working with performance coaches in collaboration with the head swim coaches to plan and direct physical conditioning programs
Collaborate with head boys' and girls' swim coaches to be aware of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to the sport
Provide support to head boys' and girls' coaches in the development of off-season training programs and summer opportunities
Help to assist with purchasing and expenditures; maintains, and inventories equipment
Provide support to the head boys' and girls' swim coaches in communicating program information to school administration, students, parents, and the community with the Director of Aquatics approval
Assist head and boys' and girls' swim coach with fundraising activities
Assist head and boys' and girls' swim coach with the end-of-season banquets or awards night
Provide support for head and boys' and girls' swim coach in coordinating transportation needs, assure all drivers comply with school policy; may drive students to away games
Assist in the development of sports schedules and facility usage
Assist the head and boys' and girls' swim coach in recommending policy, method, or procedural changes to the Athletic Director
Awareness of athletic and occupational hazards and safety precautions. Administers first aid and contacts EMS when appropriate. Promptly reports all sports-related injuries, coordinates with athletic trainers
Coordinate with head and boys' and girls' swim coaches in providing student collegiate scholarship opportunities
Assist head boys' and girls' swim coach in providing instruction to and oversight of student-athletes and ensure proper supervision of students at all times
Assist in providing training, direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for competition
Assist in explaining, monitoring, and enforcing safety rules and regulations, proper use of equipment
Assist head coaches in providing additional support to plan, lead, organize, and conduct practice sessions
Can attend coach's meetings, team meetings, and required school functions if needed
