Responsibilities:

Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data.
Define database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
Design solutions that cater to the end-to-end life cycle of the information being managed.
Hands-on experience in performance-tuning techniques.
Define security and backup procedures based on the criticality of the data element.
Lead the design and prototyping; guide developers in solving complex technical problems.
Translate complex business processes and concepts into simple technology frameworks for developers to realize it.
Align the solution to the enterprise standards and guidelines.

Must-haves:

15 years of technology delivery experience with at least 10 years of focus in database system architecture and design.
Experience producing high-quality Solution architecture and design documents.
Hands-on experience in working with popular database products like MS SQL server, and Oracle and good working knowledge of SQL.
Ability to socialize and communicate the technical architecture and design to businesses and developers.
Experience in cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS) and familiarity with at least one prominent Cloud vendor (AWS preferable).
Experience in security aspects of data storage and retrieval.
Good understanding of DevOps and/or continuous deployment and/or integration processes and tools like Jenkins.

Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
