Job description

Orchard & Vineyard Supply is currently looking for an Outside Salesperson to be part of our growing team! This position will cover The Dalles, Alderdale, Central Oregon, Hood River and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will encompass a solid sales background with a passion for organization and working seamlessly with Orchard & Vineyard staff locally and across locations. You will be working autonomously, building our customer base, and attending trade shows. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cover territory assigned on a consistent and rotating basis to introduce new products. The goal will be to build a regular territory of purchasing customers for Orchard & Vineyard Supply.
  • Attending trade shows as assigned and required to help promote our company and its products.
  • Respond on a timely basis to customer requests as needed in a professional manner.
  • Learn new products and their features, advantages, and benefits. Be prepared to present these to the customer base he/she is assigned to.
  • Seeks out new products and new sources/vendors for existing products to ensure maximum efficiency in designs.
  • Proficient in building and sustaining long lasting relationships. Be the Salesperson of Choice. Represent our Brand.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Completion of High School education and/or GED Equivalency required. Two or more years' experience in a sales environment. Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs. Upbeat attitude, willingness to grow/learn, Possess good oral communication skills, sound analytical skills, and professional telephone etiquette. Experience using the MS Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint). Ability to operate computers for data input and retrieval.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to be communicative about roadblocks to successful completion of duties.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel outside of the office environment is required when meeting with clientele.

POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday. May be occasional Saturday work.
