Position Description:
This individual will assist the teacher/team leader of the Alternative Instructional Strategies Program (AISP) with support and instruction of students with emotional and/or behavioral challenges.
Instruction and related services will be designed and provided to students on an individually
determined basis. Common areas of skill development include improving self-monitoring and self-management, impulse control, anger management, social skills, and learning deficits. As students demonstrate adequate success in these areas, the students will transition into regular education opportunities.
Special Requirements: (Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Preference given to individuals with prior successful experience working in a behavior support program, day treatment, or similar programs.
2. Bachelor’s degree with college-level training in educational psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
3. Ability to contribute to individual education plan development, monitoring, and revision.
4. Must have ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff.
5. Must have ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
6. Bilingual applicants desired but not required.
7. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

This TEMPORARY position is for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year.
This position will be 7 hours per day.
Starting rate of pay: $19.97 per hour.
