Position Summary

Undergraduate Research Assistant Position at the Radiant Lab: This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Undergraduate Research Assistant position at the Radiant Lab in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU). The Radiant Lab is recruiting Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, and Architectural Undergraduate research assistants for Summer 2024 term.
About the Radiant Lab: The Radiant Lab is led by Dr. Clotilde Pierson, an Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering. Our mission is to advance knowledge related to daylight in buildings and the practice of daylighting to enhance people's health, well-being, and performance, while minimizing energy consumption. Our research brings together insights from different disciplines, including engineering, architecture, chronobiology, computer science, urban planning, neuroscience, psychophysics, or public health.
It is anticipated that the students will work between 10 and 20 hours per week during the summer 2024 term.
Position Duties

The project for which a student will be recruited is a research study aimed at assessing the light exposure of older adults to improve their sleep and decrease their risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
The tasks that the URA will have to complete include driving to the study participants' home (Corvallis-Portland area) with a graduate student, and helping in carrying and installing the equipment. This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate student interested in research to learn about field studies and light measurements in an interdisciplinary research project.
