Oregon Surgical Specialists, PC is Hiring a Medical Records Clerk Near Medford, OR

MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK

Hours: 32 - 40 hrs per week, no weekends! Open to discussing 8 vs. 10 hr shifts (4 vs. 5 day work week)

Job Summary:

Sorts, scans and files incoming medical records from outside entities. Manages authorizations for release of information; assists patients, providers, facilities and internal staff with all medical records services.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure accuracy and quality of patient records.
  • Process and complete requests for release of information. Receive and process records-release requests from patients and outside provider offices.
  • Scan and process internal paperwork into electronic health record.
  • Perform chart preparation prior to patient visits.
  • Scan prepped paperwork into electronic health record.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Previous healthcare experience, required.
  • Medical Records experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record, preferred.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated computer experience, preferably in a Windows-based environment.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems, required. Experience with Epic EHR, preferred.
  • Excellent telephone and written communication skills, as well as listening skills and ability to demonstrate tact and patience with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems that may require research and creative solutions.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with limited supervision.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to display professional and ethnical conduct at all times.
  • Good teamwork and collaboration skills.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
