Oregon Trail School Dist 46 is Hiring a Humanities Teacher Near Boring, OR
Primary PurposeOregon Trail Academy (OTA) seeks a skilled and enthusiastic language arts/social studies teacher for a full-time position to teach 6th-8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies in a rigorous academic setting. The incoming teacher will join OTA’s tradition of excellence in a student-centered and process-intensive IB program. We seek an experienced, spirited, and collaborative individual to promote the collective vision for our program, with a proven track record of success in helping students meet high expectations. Candidates should be invested in connecting to and collaborating with other disciplines both inside and outside the discipline, and experience building relationships with the local community. Candidates must also be willing to teach an elective course, as well as take on other tasks and responsibilities within a small, tight-knit staff.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (minimum requirement), Master’s English preferred
Valid Oregon teaching license with a Social Studies and English Language Arts endorsement
IB MYP or DP Category 1 Training certificate preferred but not required.
Special Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge and mastery in subject/level endorsement
Knowledge and good (demonstrated) understanding of curriculum and instruction
Student management skills
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Use of technology for learning management and instruction
ExperienceInternational school teaching experience preferred but not required.
Salary/Benefits: As provided in negotiated agreement with teacher bargaining unit.
Range: $52,346 - $101,447
District pays PERS contribution. Excellent benefit package
