The Senior Director of Sales Operations and Analytics will spearhead the commercial analytics function, delivering strategic insights and analytical excellence to propel business growth and enhance commercial performance. This critical role involves overseeing and refining the company's processes to boost sales and reduce operational costs. The Senior Director will develop advanced analytics capabilities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform strategic decisions, optimize resource allocation, build critical competitive capabilities, and promote financial stewardship for accelerated growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership and Vision
  • Collaborate to Create and Implement Strategic Vision: Working with sales leadership, develop a comprehensive strategic vision for the sales operations and analytics function, ensuring it aligns with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership: Work closely with senior leadership to identify and address key business challenges and opportunities through the application of advanced analytics, driving innovation and strategic growth.
  • Analytics Strategy & Execution
  • Design Comprehensive Analytics Frameworks: Create and deploy robust analytics frameworks to support commercial strategies and initiatives.
  • Utilize Advanced Analytical Techniques: Apply advanced analytical techniques and tools to derive actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Promote Data-Driven Decision Making: Foster the adoption of data-driven decision-making processes across the commercial organization.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:
  • Define and Track Key Metrics: Establish, monitor, and report on essential commercial performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Develop and Deliver Reports: Create and present regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, offering clear and actionable insights.
  • Conduct In-Depth Analysis: Perform thorough analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in commercial performance.
  • Design and Monitor Incentive Compensation Plans and Field Force Effectiveness: Collaborate cross-functionally to create effective compensation plans that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis:
  • Utilize/Conduct Market Research: Assess market research and conduct competitive analysis to inform commercial strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze Market Trends: Examine market trends, customer behaviors, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide Strategic Recommendations: Offer strategic recommendations based on comprehensive local market and competitive insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Key Teams: Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, product, and other relevant teams to support commercial initiatives and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Ensure Data Quality and Accessibility: Work closely with IT and data management teams to maintain data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Enhance Communication and Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing across departments to improve collaboration and efficiency.
  • Initiate Quality Initiatives: Lead quality initiatives aimed at optimizing internal functions, producing significant enhancements to company performance and strengthening customer relations.
  • Collaborate with VP of Strategy and team, to analyze potential strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities.
  • Forecasting and Planning:
  • Oversee Sales Forecasting: Manage the sales forecasting process, ensuring accurate and reliable sales projections.
  • Collaborate on Budgets and Targets: Work with finance and sales leadership to develop sales budgets and set targets.
  • Monitor and Adjust Performance: Track sales performance against forecasts and budgets, addressing variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Resource Management and Budgeting:
  • Manage Team Budget: Oversee the commercial team’s budget, ensuring resources are allocated optimally to high-impact projects and initiatives.
  • Evaluate Analytical Tools and Technologies: Assess and provide recommendations on necessary analytical tools, software, and technologies to support business objectives.
What You Need to Achieve It:
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role (7-10 years), preferably within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Expertise: Deep expertise in sales, commercial operations, advanced analytics, including proficiency with analytical tools and software.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving business results.
  • Communication: Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical insights to diverse audiences.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
