The Maintenance Technician, is responsible for completing the service and repair of plant equipment and systems, resulting in reliable production runs with limited mechanical downtime. The Technician has strong mechanical, engineering and instrumentation skills and leads activities related to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues; and implementation of needed repairs. The Technician will also provide training and support for lower level Technicians.

• Fully understand all equipment and systems at Cyanco’s cyanide production plant.
• Carry out all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation repairs (preventive and unscheduled); able to work unsupervised most of the time when carrying out these repairs.
• Perform equipment failure analysis (preventive and unscheduled). Use mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills; support other Technicians with their troubleshooting and diagnosis tasks.
• Identify needed spare parts and notify Storehouse Lead and Maintenance Director for re-ordering.
• Create and issue work orders and PMs.
• Act as maintenance crew lead when needed.
• Identify and make recommendations for continuous improvement and cost savings ideas. 
• Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report and resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency and product quality. 
• Oversee maintenance contractors who are working onsite.
• Coach, train and mentor lower Level Maintenance Technicians.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent - Mandatory.
• Millwright degree - A plus!
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong mechanic skills and aptitude.
• Strong electrical and instrumentation skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Welding experience.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures and required documentation.
• Demonstrate solid work performance in an environment that requires a high level of detail.
• A strong team member who is able to work well in a team environment.
• Must be safety conscious with the ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety, comply with safety regulations, etc.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Able to work within and support Cyanco’s Core Values.

Minimum experience:

• Demonstrated mastery of all Maintenance Technician skills.
• Fully knowledge of Cyanco’s plant, systems and equipment.
• Successful completion of safety and other training deemed appropriate by Cyanco.
