Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily responsibilities of planning, fieldwork, and “wrap-up” which includes the preparation of financial statement with disclosures.
- Test and evaluate various systems and balances, as appropriate.
- Participate in various types of engagements including audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed upon procedures.
- Plan and coordinate various phases of the engagement, this includes preparation and/or review of tax support workpapers and tax returns (complex individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other).
- Act as the first point of contact for basic questions and information.
- Oversee the supervision, development, and training of Staff Accountants.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Learn and understand the reasons behind the Firm’s policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced leadership and team management skills.
- Prior tax preparation experience/knowledge.
- Ability to be a primary contact for clients.
- Skill to work as the “in-charge” for all stages of the engagement.
- Prior experience preparing Financial statements.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and tax software.
