About the Position
Exceptional opportunity for experienced Commercial Analyst with 3-4 years plus experience in Asset Finance / Fleet or Corporate Credit analysis. This role will provide support to the Specialized Asset Finance and other businesses in relation to reviewing of credit profiles and processing of credit applications across varying asset classes as well as settlement related activities primarily relating to vehicle and commercial equipment finance opportunities. It will also provide credit support across other lines of business, including rental, novated and fleet as needed.

The successful candidate will have the ability to analyse financial statements (income statement/balance sheet/cashflows) in order to discuss the credit worthiness of a business customer introduced by various channels and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and evaluate credit applications for automotive asset finance and articulately underwrite opportunities across a wide variety of industries and asset classes.
  • Assessment of the credit standing of various business customers, ranging from Sole Traders, Trusts and Small Businesses through to medium and large companies with complex financials & corporate structures.
  • Make informed credit decisions and provide recommendations based on Financial, asset & transaction analysis. This involves possessing strong knowledge of financial statements, various corporate structures and assessing the relevant risks.
  • Undertake all customer verification and identification procedures when and where required.
  • Working alongside sales teams to assist in information gathering and structuring of transactions to ensure credit needs are understood and met.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely loading of customer transaction information in various ORIX systems
  • Collaborate with internal customers to support their understanding of the credit process and consistently strive to improve and enhance credit tools and methods.
  • Approve Credit Applications as per delegated authority.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Credit Manager and the broader credit team on an ad-hoc basis.


Skills We Are Looking For

  • Possess excellent asset risk knowledge in the equipment and automotive lending sector.
  • At least 3-5 years strong experience in understanding, analysing, spreading and discussing business financial statements of small business to large corporates with a view to determining credit worthiness.
  • Have strong Commercial Credit Underwriting Skills including some specific experience in an equipment/asset finance environment - can be non-bank or banking environment.
  • Be competent in making timely credit decisions for large deal size transactions for New/Existing customers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various lease and loan products specific to commercial asset finance (Chattel Mortgage, Finance Lease, Rental, Operating Lease)
  • Display strong understanding of the different business and legal structures in the Small/Medium sized business sector.
  • Possess sound general knowledge of business types and applicable credit and legal risks including in particular the Privacy Act, PPSA and AML/CTF
  • Have strong attention to detail with a "can-do" attitude towards writing new business.
