Unit Overview
Our Progressive Team unit is a 36 bed, fast-paced multisystem unit on the 6th floor which operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. We serve adult patients that are acutely ill requiring complex nursing interventions. We see patients with Cardiac, Respiratory, Renal and GI conditions, as well as stable postoperative patients.
Our PCU team fosters a culture of safety and an environment of teamwork, effective communication, and positive attitudes while we work to exceed our customer's expectations. Staffing is based on synergy and acuity, we utilize the care-pair model, where a nurse is paired with a nursing assistant or student nurse intern to provide safe, quality and effective patient care.
Orientation is individualized and modified to meet the needs of each new team member. New Team members are assigned a preceptor and will follow their schedule. New team members are supported through their entire orientation by way of corporate and unit based educational opportunities. The leadership team is always accessible and provides at the elbow support for all team members.
