OrthoNebraska is adding a Registered Nurse (RN) to our Pre/Post-Op team!
The Pre/Post-Op team environment is fast paced and well organized in taking care of the needs of our orthopaedic community.

Two (2) 10-Hour Shifts

Department/Position Details/Duties:

  • Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient's ongoing nursing care needs
  • Develop/reviews/revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient's nursing care needs for optimum patient.
  • Evaluates patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome
  • Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety
  • Maintains a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, interactions to achieve organizations mission
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age /weight of the patients served
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska and other states as required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) required.

Experience:

  • 1-2 Years perioperative, medical-surgical or PACU experience preferred.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
