Osborne Association Inc is Hiring a Transportation Program Coordinator Near Brooklyn, NY

Description

 The Osborne Association serves individuals, families, and communities affected by the criminal justice system. The Transportation Program Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Family Transportation Program, providing reliable and affordable transportation services for families visiting their loved ones in state prisons throughout New York City and New York State. The role involves managing transportation logistics, coordinating with transit providers and prison administrations, and ensuring families receive the support they need. This position is Hybrid and is subject to changes to the schedule at anytime.

 Salary range: $67,000/ Year

Requirements

  • Coordinate and manage daily transportation services, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, routes, and partnerships with transit providers, adapting as needed if transit providers become unavailable or buses break down.
  • Oversee the online portal and hotline for scheduling trips and providing information about visiting to families.
  • Liaise with prison administrations to align transportation schedules with visiting hours.
  • Work with community organizations and Osborne’s Communications Department to promote the program and reach potential beneficiaries.
  • Foster relationships with public and private transit providers.
  • Manage program budgets, including monitoring expenses and processing subsidies.
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance and impact.
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to transportation services.
  • Conduct outreach efforts to inform families about the transportation program across New York State.
  • Organize and participate in community meetings and events to promote the program.
  • Gather feedback from families to continually improve services.
  • Collect and analyze data on visitation rates and participant feedback.
  • Assist in evaluating the program's impact on recidivism rates and family well-being.
  • Contribute to program improvement based on evaluation findings.
  • In-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social work, Public administration, Transportation management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in program coordination, preferably in a social services or transportation context. Particularly within social services or transportation contracts. 
  • Experience in which criminal justice or social justice impact is a key focus. 

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences through strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, including families, transit providers, prison officials, and community organizations
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent spreadsheet, database, and technology skills, Google Sheets preferred
  • Experience working with diverse communities and populations.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and new challenges, maintaining effectiveness in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in documentation, scheduling, and reporting through strong attention to detail.
