The IT Technical Proposal Writer will provide technical and proposal writing skills. In this role, the technical writer will work with IT SMEs to put together high scoring proposal technical volumes based on instructions and evaluation criteria. All writing must be high quality, concise, technically accurate and compliant with government requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for Information (RFIs) and request for quotes (RFQs). Technical Writer also ensures compliance with applicable federal regulations, as well as RFPs’ terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develops and writes clear, concise, compelling, and compliant proposal technical content.
• Reviews and analyzes all solicitations documentation for each proposal and RFI, RFP’s.
• Leads solutioning discussions and interviews with IT SMEs to develop a written technical approach that is compliant with solicitation documents
• Communicates with technical SME’s for feedback and technical input to solicitations
• Provides feedback on proposal process improvement and graphics
• Writes complex data clearly, and succinctly
• Responds to internal and external inquires and communications in a professional and timely manner
• Revises and edits drafts of proposal sections as required to ensure compliance.
• Attends all color reviews and provides input as appropriate
• Attends solution strategy meetings
• Maintains quality results by using prescribed templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks
• Perform other tasks as required

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 or more years’ experience writing IT technical volumes to Federal Government in response to DoD RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. (knowledge areas to include but not limited to: IT Infrastructure, Networking, Cloud, Agile, System Administration, and Unified Communications)
• Excellent oral and written communication and coordination skills are necessary to be successful in this position
• Available to work nights and weekends as needed due to business needs and proposal deadlines
• Possess prior knowledge, ability and hands- on experience in writing to meet the requirements defined in technical sections of DoD solicitations
• Ability to work independently and to manage multiple proposals, RFI’s and RFP’s at one time
• Ability to work under pressure and meet all proposal deadlines

Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience

• Shipley training or Shipley certification is preferred
