Network Engineer - with CCNA and Security Certifications

LOCATION: Quantico, VA - Must be on site 5 days a week

As a Network Engineer, the individual will work with the Senior Network Engineer to conduct technical tasks, network monitoring and control, and technical support including troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all systems in the network.? In this role, the Engineer will configure and install networking hardware/software replacements and upgrades minimize downtime, and other reporting as required. Additionally, the individual will work with other team engineers to develop programmatic actions and minimize security risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
• Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans)
• Works with RKB tenant agency engineers in support of RKB networking related projects
• Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
• Provides day-to-day subject matter expert support for RKB tenant agencies
• Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non- core hours
• Works with vendors in support of the ITCSU
• Ensures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
• Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility
• Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in data center as well as service provider
• Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in computer system or network engineering, and with a minimum of two (2) years of specialized experience related to the assigned task
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level. Please refer to the website: https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications
• Prior experience as a Network Engineer in a large government environment
• Must have experience with OSPF and HSRP
• Must have experience with Cisco routers and Catalysts switches
• Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Word
• Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance and must be eligible for a TSSCI

Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security)
• Prior experience with modern data center technologies, such as Cisco VPC, Cisco VDC, and VRF Lite
