Overview
Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse - Medical Oncology –(APN) is an advanced practice nurse with specialty training to practice in an oncology setting. The APN evaluates diagnoses, clinically monitors and manages oncology, hematology, and genetics patients utilizing advanced assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics. The APN role is an integrated one, which includes clinical, educational, and research components. Other roles include but are not limited to chemotherapy teaching, bone marrow biopsies, and cancer surveillance. The APN demonstrates expertise in providing clinical care and counseling to individuals concerned about medical oncology and hematologic related diseases and their risk of hereditary cancer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
