Description
The IT Systems - CyberSecurity Specialist - will work to secure, grant access, assist administrators and law enforcement, and oversee projects related to securing people and data for the District. This position will help service strategy and service design goals become realized in security for the District’s staff, students, and data. (CyberSecurity and Technology Security)
Systems Functions (85%):
1. Maintain a few of the many District Systems based on their skill level and interest.
2. Take ownership of the systems for:
a) Cyber Security
i) Deploy and update EDR (end-point detection & response)
ii) Monitor services like dark-web reports, security reporting, etc.
iii) Oversee the District's Breach Incident Response procedures
iv) Run scheduled phishing campaigns
v) Run regular training exercises including, but not limited to, tabletop exercises, professional development, onboarding, and building administrator training
vi) Develop and maintain appropriate firewall access rules, intrusion detection, VPN access, and network security
vii) Oversee the security and functionality of the District’s user authentication systems
b) Visitor Security System
c) Physical security systems including electronic door locks and schedules, security cameras, and notification and communication systems.
3. Maintain an incident management plan to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible and minimize adverse effects on business operations.
4. Lead problem management process to resolve root cause of incident and thus minimize impact and prevent the re-occurrence of incidents.
5. Engagement with Service Operations team to communicate change management processes, project implementation requirements, and maintain continual service improvement feedback records from Service Operations.
Project Functions (10%):
7. Provides functional project support to areas in transition, collects and analyzes data, and prepares project materials
8. Participates in planning implementation tasks, coordinates efforts between departments and provides follows up on projects and major issues.
9. Performs needs and outcomes assessments as needed
10. Assist in administering security projects, undertakings, and initiatives; work with technical leads, sponsors, stakeholders, and administrative staff to make planning assumptions; assisting with identifying project scope, goals and deliverables, resources and timelines.
11. Provide support by tracking milestones and completion of tasks and following-up on outstanding matters.
12. Assist with creating communication plans that detail how and when information will be shared with stakeholders, team members, etc.
Other Responsibilities:
General Functions (5%):
1. Stay current in knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies, equipment, and communication system installation and troubleshooting.
2. Stays current on trends and developments in data security technologies.

3. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with Policy 4122.01 – Drug-free Workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.

4. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Ability to leverage positive interpersonal skills to develop rapport with all staff groups.
2. A minimum of a two-year associate degree in cybersecurity technology, technology security, or related field.
3. Two to three years of experience, preferably in an information technology environment.
4. Experience in a technology service support environment.
5. Experience with developing communication plans and familiarity with change management plans.
6. Experience with organizing and conducting team meetings and facilitating discussions.
7. Ability to create documentation, various status/statical reports or training materials.
8. Ability to prepare and deliver oral and written presentations; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to use discretion and care when resolving issues.
10. Excellent organization skills; ability to self-direct and effectively manage assignments.
11. Work experience in security hardware and software preferred.
12. Experience in installing and troubleshooting technology using Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome operating systems preferred.
13. Available to work outside of regular working hours when appropriate
