Job DescriptionSenior Product Development Engineer with OSO Perforating, LLC (Southlake, TX)
Develop new perforating products in a collaborative team environment. Produce significant engineering improvements and modifications to existing products. Develop testing procedures and equipment. Collaborate with customers to develop new and improved products, and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Prepare, revise, approve, and distribute engineering documentation. Perform design analysis, review, and verification on new and modified products. Analyze domestic and international orders for engineering and quality requirements. Set-up bill of materials for new products. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Support manufacturing operations. Position allows for occasional remote work and reports to the company office in Southlake, Texas.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Position requires experience (3 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 5 years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s experience with a Bachelor’s degree). Must have some experience in each of the following skills:

- Stress analysis;
- Design For Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM);
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computer Aided Design (CAD), and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD
- Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Life Cycle Management (PLM);
- 3D CAD and SolidWorks;
- Oil & Gas well environment characteristics including well bore pressure and temperature;
- Perforating gun technology including electrical communication and energetics (explosives);
- Test plans and design fixtures;
- Other downhole tool product development including plug setting tools and ballistic release tools; and
- Wireline service operations including communication with perforating tools.
