OSU MEDICAL CENTER is Hiring a Medical Staff and Academic Affairs Manager Near Tulsa, OK

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Medical Staff Specialist Duties:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the medical staff services team including hiring, training, and supervising personnel.
  • Manage the credentialing process for medical staff, including physicians and allied health professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards as per the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC) related to medical staff credentialing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medical staff members credentials, licensure, certification, and privileges.
  • Coordinate the reappointment process for medical staff members according to established timeliness.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff members, administration, and regulatory agencies to address credentialing inquiries and issues.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions for new medical staff members and provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings of the medical executive committee and other relevant committees.
  • Ensure adherence to licensing requirements and work with program coordinators to secure appropriate licensure for trainees (temporary, and permanent licensure) as part of the onboarding and renewal processes.
  • Implement and maintain processes to monitor and track compliance with institutional and regulatory standards, (e.g.., FIT testing, HIPPA, Rapid Regs, etc.)

GME Resource Manager Duties:

  • Oversee the administrative aspects of graduate medical education programs, including residency and fellowship programs.
  • Serve as the liaison between GME and administration, as well as other hospital departments and external partners such as affiliated medical schools and residency programs.
  • Oversee budget development for GME programs including allocation of funds for personnel, equipment, travel reimbursement and educational materials.
  • Monitor expenditures and identify areas for cost saving or reallocation of resources.
  • Prepare financial reports as required by administration.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the goals and objectives of GME programs.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Program Directors, the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) of the Sponsoring Institution, and Program Coordinators to ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the resulting associated OSUMC policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the resident and fellow recruitment processes and onboarding.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for program accreditation reviews and site visits.
  • Generate reports and analytics to support program evaluation and improvement.
  • Facilitate communication with resident regarding OSUMC-specific activities ensuring transparency and adherence to ACGME requirements and other similar expectations (e.g.., OSUMC specific events like EPIC downtime, etc.)

ADDITIONAL / OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement efficient processes and workflows to streamline administrative tasks related to both medical staff and GME functions.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Human Resources, Legal, and Education, to ensure alignment of policies and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of changes in regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices related to medical staff credentialing and graduate medical education.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff members involved in medical staff credentialing and GME activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Education:
4 year/Bachelors Degree (Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field)
Post Graduate Degree (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Certification in Medical Staff Services Management (CMSSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is desirable
Experience:
Previous experience in medical staff credentialing, graduate medical education, or healthcare administration role is preferred.
