Job Overview:
The Dance Instructor is a part-time position located at the Boulder Point, 0 Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery, IL. This position reports to the Recreation Supervisor – Dance.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct dance classes for various levels and ages according to program curriculum and prepare lesson plans.
- Ability to create choreography, select appropriate music, and assist at dance recitals.
- Ability to evaluate dance participants and make recommendations for improvement.
- Train, supervise, and motivate participants by being creative, positive, and enthusiastic.
- Communicate with dance participants and parents.
- Meet deadlines on costume forms, dancer evaluations, availability forms and other administrative requests.
- Assisting in marketing and promoting the dance program.
- Ability to teach various dance styles from beginner to advanced level.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Preferred degree in Dance Education and/or experience of at least two years as a dance instructor.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member of the dance staff.
