Otrium is Hiring a Data Engineer Near Amsterdam, NH

Your impactAt Otrium, we don’t fall in love with each and every idea, we listen to what the data tells us. As a Data Engineer at Otrium, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring data-driven decision making at Otrium. You will be a part of the Data Team and work on maintaining & elevating our data platform. Working closely with our analytics team, data product teams and wider Otrium engineering teams.

Your responsibilities

  • Help build and support Otrium’s data platform based on AWS, Databricks and dbt.
  • Building data integrations, pipelines and models.
  • Implementing, configuring and maintaining a range of 3rd party and SaaS tools (Fivetran, Databricks etc)
  • You will work with a variety of stakeholders to develop robust end-to-end Data & Analytics solutions which support Otrium in making data-driven decisions
  • You will build and optimise data assets in a mix of Python and SQL - consolidate data relating to the business from disparate sources, collaborate with teams to integrate more data sources
  • Collaborating with other disciplines (Analysts, Product Managers, Data Scientists and Software Engineers)
  • Ensure the quality, performance and availability of the data platform infrastructure and subsequent reporting to all stakeholders

What you'll bring to the team...

  • 3 years of professional experience in a Data Engineer role in a fast-paced and dynamic business setting
  • Profound understanding of databases (relational, column-based, NoSQL), DWH design, SQL querying and optimisation
  • Experience with Spark (ideally Databricks)
  • Experience with working on a dbt project in a live production environment
  • Knowledge of event driven & serverless architectures
  • Experience with dashboard tooling and data presentation
  • Experience implementing machine learning models in Python
  • Relevant industry knowledge (marketing, pricing, supply chain e-commerce, etc.)
  • Strong quantitative & problem solving skills; you are solutions-oriented, a self-starter and have an eye for detail
  • You are a quick learner, motivated and enjoy working with new technologies
  • You are able to and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic and international team environment
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) and are able to effectively communicate technical subject matter to technical & business stakeholders
