Job SummaryThe Global Market Research (GMR) Associate Director role(CNS) at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals supports commercial insight needs for CNS assets (Ulotaront and SEP-135) from Discovery to launch and LCM globally. The GMR Associate Director will be responsible for leading both primary and secondary market research and competitive intelligence along with other commercial insight generation for these CNS assets.
Job DescriptionThe position is part of the GMMA organization. This role reports to the Director of Global Market Research team and will collaborate directly with the CNS Global Marketing and Market Access team as well as being an active contributor to the Global Marketing Market Access (GMMA) Group.
The Associate Director position will lead the design, execution, and management of market research projects for Ulotaront and SEP-135. . The Associate Director is a market research subject matter expert and contributes to the to the annual Global Asset Planning. The Associate Director is expected to select and manage market research agencies and to answer key business questions that drive business success. Additionally, the Associate Director will integrate multiple sources of information/insights to support the Ulotaront and SEP-135 commercial teams in shaping brand development and strategy , including business cases, patient journey, brand positioning andcustomer needs assessment.. The Associate Director position requires strong collaboration with the GMMA team and partnering with relevant functions.

QualificationsRequired
  • Semi-autonomous approach to leading market research projects and with some guidance from GMR Director
  • Demonstrated excellence in executing market research projects,, with agency consultant partners
  • Broad knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative market research tools and techniques from early development assets to preparing assets for launch markets.
  • Proven track record of applying market research tools/techniques to positively influence business decision making and product development.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise integrating primary and secondary data into synthesized information and insights to make a positive impact on brand development and commercialization strategy.
  • Propose innovative, new ideas to increase the value/impact of market research projects
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration within and across functions
  • Proactively takes ownership of building internal relationships with key stakeholders
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with marketing and other commercial partners to influence decision making
  • Adept at working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and insights generation expertise
  • Ability to think creatively to support the team in solving complex business problems.
  • Proven knowledge of the clinical development process and product lifecycle from early stage through to product launch,
  • Knowledge of and experience managing global market research programs
  • Experience selecting, managing and developing market research agencies.
Preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a market research leadership role in the pharmaceutical industry or related profession.
  • Minimum of 6 years conducting market research studies, leading competitive intelligence initiatives, and managing projects
