Who We’re Looking For:

The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for engaging with multiple current and potential clients in a wide variety of business industries on a daily basis. This position requires strong skills in B2B Sales Lead Generation, outside sales, communication, negotiation, and innovative selling & marketing. Most of the time will be spent either in the field or cold calling to seek new partnerships, sell our products, and introduce our safety solutions.

An exceptional candidate will be highly motivated, driven by success, and thrives in a sales-driven environment. An outstanding candidate must be exceptionally organized with immaculate attention to detail. Keeping track of leads and property information with precision is crucial for success in this role. The candidate must be an outstanding communicator. Whether it's over the phone or in person, you excel at building rapport with clients and closing deals. Prior sales experience is paramount. Experience in sales, particularly in door-to-door or similar environments, is highly desirable.

What You Will Do:

  • Utilize existing internal databases to identify potential leads and execute outbound sales strategies
  • Assist in developing, proposing, and executing an all-encompassing growth-oriented sales strategy 
  • Maintain a “company first, people always” mentality which focuses on the growth, development, and retention of a professional sales force to achieve company objectives
  • Conduct on-going competitive analysis and develop exploitation strategies to increase current market share
  • Track and document all information on our Management System regarding leads or customer information
  • Identify new business verticals and drive interdepartmental initiatives to disrupt a target market and capture revenue
  • Support the development of internal reporting documentation and external marketing initiatives
  • Manage strategic accounts and cultivate new business development
  • Act as the lead on all Government product sales and service proposals
  • Take immediate corrective action when issues arise & escalate when required
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support throughout the entire order cycle, serving as the primary point of contact and company representative for customers at all levels.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Inventory, Accounting, Finance, Sales Operations, Warehouse, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities related to customer orders and account management.
  • All other relevant duties assigned by the company executive team
  • May be required to work non-standard hours and should expect regular domestic travel to support business development objectives. Limited international travel is unlikely, but possible, and would be coordinated well in advance. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, management or other related fields. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience leading sales or business development teams, minimum 5 years experience
  • Proven ability conducting competitive analysis, executing strategic sales strategies, and positioning products or services within a market segment
  • Verified aptitude to drive a sales process from plan development to close
  • Excellent verbal, written, and spoken communication skills with experience presenting and influencing all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently or in groups with little oversight
  • Intrinsically motivated to seek both personal and professional development opportunities
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related hardware 
  • Strong operational understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong operational understanding of CRM (Hubspot strongly preferred) and transaction (Quickbooks Enterprise strongly preferred) software applications

Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer

Working Conditions:

The Business Development Specialist position will follow typical office hours. On occasion, they may be required to work additional hours as the needs of the company dictate. This position requires frequent computer and telephone use and all appropriate equipment will be provided.
