Position Summary:

The Cloud Architect is responsible for implementing and supporting scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions on Azure. This role is pivotal in our journey towards a fully optimized, cloud-centric infrastructure within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This position collaborates closely with global tech teams, driving significant improvements in operational efficiency and effectiveness across the ministry. 

Essential Functions:

1. Architect and deploy high-performance solutions using Azure PaaS services, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
2. Lead the strategic transition from on-premises infrastructure to Azure, leveraging best practices for cloud integration and migration.
3. Design, configure, and manage Azure API Management (APIM) to create, manage, and monitor APIs.
4. Implement Azure Defender for continuous threat protection, security management, and compliance monitoring across cloud services.
5. Collaborate with software development teams to create a cohesive cloud strategy that aligns with application needs and DevOps standards.
6. Optimize cloud resources for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with security standards.
7. Ensure robust disaster recovery and backup solutions are in place, tailored to cloud-based operations.
8. Stay current with Azure services and technologies and recommend innovations that enhance our capabilities.
9. Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and minimal disruption.
10. Display a service mindset coupled with excellent communication.

Study or Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of experience in cloud computing with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, including significant expertise in Azure PaaS services.
• Demonstrated experience with Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Defender, and other Azure security features.
• Proven track record of successful on-premises to Azure cloud migrations.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, networking concepts, and security best practices within the Azure environment.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar technologies.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate are highly valued.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
