Out of the Woods Custom Cabinetry, Inc. is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative (Stone Countertop) Near Layton, UT

Out of the Woods Custom Cabinetry, Inc. is on a mission to design, create, and install space that people love. Located in Layton, Utah, we’ve designed, created and installed our way to incredible growth.

The Outside Sales Rep. is to represent the company and themselves in a professional and courteous manner as an ambassador for Out of the Woods Inc. This position will solicit new business and follow up on bids as necessary to ensure the quality servicing of customer, including following up with contractors and other customers on bids that were not accepted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Outside Sales Rep. include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works within the team concept of Out of the Woods and understands that we win or lose together.
  • Ensures that realistic personal sales goals are set and achieved, and a consistent flow of work is submitted to the shop.
  • Solicits new business, with an emphasis on stone countertops.
  • Ensures that all administrative reports and forms are completed and turned into the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Responsible for the development of accurate cost estimates within the time frame and price structure as assigned by the Director of Sales and that these estimates are communicated to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Follows up on bids as necessary to include following up with contractors and other customers on bids that were not accepted.
  • Develops a full knowledge of Out of the Woods, Inc. estimating and job costing computer systems.
  • Continues to assist the customers through the manufacture/fabrication process and answers questions, making changes and revisions to drawings and estimates and handling objections from customers/contractors.
  • Ensures the quality servicing of customer by monitoring key indicators and reports as well as frequent and random contacts with customers.
  • Coordinates with the Schedule Coordinator, and the Shop Manager to ensure a smooth transition for customers and/or contractors through the project process.

Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.

SKILLS

Must have the ability to handle the sales segment of the business. Must be able to work with people, negotiate, analyze problems and translate company goals into actions necessary to achieve the goals. Must have the ability to manage relationships and multitask to juggle several projects at any given time. Must always possess and exude a certain level of confidence in the role.

Must have a complete knowledge of company systems and processes and knowledge of what needs done and by when. Must possess a remarkable sense of judgment and have a commitment to do the right thing for the company in all situations. Must possess the ability to work closely with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, area contractors, owners, suppliers and other outside professionals with whom the company deals with on a regular basis.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Preferred- A degree in related field.
  • Required- High School diploma.

EXPERIENCE

  • Required- 1 – 3 years in the cabinet and/or granite industry.
  • Required- 1 – 2 years outside sales skills in a professional environment.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PHYSICAL

Includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and use of hands and arms to operate office and field equipment. Spatial vision is required to determine specific requirements from customer/contractor prints and computer programs as applicable. Must be able to lift a minimum of at least 25 LBS. Must also be able to drive personal vehicle to and from work as well as scheduled appointments.

This person will work in the office as well as out in the field. The office is a smoke free, temperature controlled environment with moderate noise. The time spent in the field can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, noisy, dusty and hazardous. Other outside efforts entail visits to customers or vendors which may require travel by air or automobile. These locations are visited throughout the year and during all weather conditions. If the Outside Sales Rep. deems a situation in their day as unsafe, the Outside Sales Rep. is to contact the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
