Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team. This role is an extension of the finance / billing department and plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of our clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to patients while managing financial responsibilities, including insurance verification, patient billing, and payment collection. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Full time hours schedule (8am - 5pm) - Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Support
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner, ensuring a positive experience.
- Explain billing policies, insurance coverage, and payment options to patients.
- Address patient inquiries regarding statements, balances, and insurance claims.
Financial & Billing Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between patients and the billing department, ensuring accurate communication of financial information.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, updating patient records accordingly.
- Accurately process patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Prepare, review, and distribute patient billing statements.
- Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid balances.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, state regulations, and federal billing standards.
Administrative Duties
- Schedule appointments while considering insurance requirements and pre-authorizations.
- Maintain up-to-date patient accounts, financial records, and billing documentation in the clinic’s system.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and accurate financial processing.
Financial Oversight
- Monitor and track clinic revenue collection goals, ensuring timely payment postings and financial accuracy.
- Identify and escalate delinquent accounts to appropriate billing or collection teams.
- Provide periodic financial reports or summaries to clinic management as needed.
