Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and team members to find their passion for life and pursuit of engagement within the Ovation family.

  • Empower and engage team members to create memorable moments for our residents and other team members.
  • Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Provides area information including directions, attractions, shopping, nightlife and/or other recreational opportunities.
  • Arranges sightseeing and other tours
  • Acquires tickets to special events or makes reservations for clients at a variety of venues, including meal, recreation times (e.g., golf or tennis), or spa treatments
  • Runs appropriate errands for guests and picks up or delivers a variety of items.
  • Provides a variety of business services such as shipping packages and assisting with printing needs
  • Receives, stores and/or delivers mail and luggage
  • Acquires daily care items, such as toiletries, for guests and patrons
  • Plans and schedules special events, parties or meetings
  • Coordinates special moments for guests, assists by searching for hard to find items and fulfills unusual requests such as arranging adventure experiences like hot air balloon rides
  • Arranges for interpreters or translators when needed
  • Develops and maintains service relationships to fulfill the needs of patrons, customers, guests or employees
  • Makes recommendations to the General Manager and Executive Directors on ideas to exceed resident expectations of the Concierge and quality of living at Ovation based on resident comments and feedback.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge for activities in the region through local publications, business and organizations websites, mailers and social media.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Personnel Functions
  • Attend and participate in property mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled
  • Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved
  • Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, etc.
  • Responsible to manage and maintain departmental budgets. As well as meet budget expectations
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of hotel guest services or similar experience highly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use of computers, data input/retrieval/output functions, etc.
  • Must display excellent administrative, organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must display excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with tenants, guests, patrons, employees, vendors and the public.
  • Must have a positive attitude with the ability to remain flexible and patient.
  • Must be calm and levelheaded in emergencies.
  • Must be well groomed and possess ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as must be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this community, which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
