Position Description
The Construction Project Accountant is responsible for client billings, change order preparation, accounts payable and job costing as they relate to assigned projects. The Construction Project Accountant is also responsible for both project management and financial performance reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
· Generate and track owner billings (G702/G703).
· Financial Reporting.
· AP/AR for Projects.
· Manage subcontractor billings and corresponding payments.
· Generate and ensure accuracy of Work in Progress report.
Additional Responsibilities
· Maintain financial project files.
· Maintain financial information in project management software (Sage CM).
· Investigate any unbilled project costs.
· Project Tax Calculation and Payment.
· Review and maintain accurate project costs reports.
· Confirm contract status for new subcontractor billings.
· Review approved subcontractor billing for accuracy.
· Work with PM in project cost forecasting.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
· 2-5 years’ experience in construction accounting.
· Knowledge of Sage CM and Sage Intacct software a strong plus.
· Financial reporting experience a plus.
· Excellent project management skills including meeting deadlines and project budgets.
· Extremely high level of initiative.
· Proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems.
· Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and attention to detail
· Communication, organization and analytical skills.
