Overtime is Hiring a Manager, Player Relations Near Atlanta, GA
What You’ll Do
You will strategize and streamline outreach efforts for OTE stakeholders; including players, parents and their representation.
You will build consistency in overall approach and tone to support broad OTE player and stakeholder messaging and programming
Plan, edit and write communications assets for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a recurring newsletter for OTE team members, players, and stakeholders
Show proficiency in your ability to storyboard or translate ideas from internal teammates and curate aesthetically pleasing communication assets
Consult OTE team members for feedback and adjust communications content accordingly
Promote solution based practices. You should be able to intake any organizational wide question or concern from players and stakeholders; activate applicable teammates to work towards a solution, from start to finish.
This position will also be responsible for communicating player facing updates to applicable OTE team members and leadership executives.
Ability to communicate often in an effective manner to keep all team members abreast of pertinent player information and issues.
Awareness to effectively detect possible player facing risks or issues and manage response strategies for improvement or mitigation from start to finish
Meet regularly with all OTE departments to understand all player communication needs and track on messaging outgoing to player or stakeholders
Oversee and manage requested visual projects for various OTE departments; example, recruiting presentations showcasing OTE: academics, basketball, league housing, etc.
Effectively manage new projects to support the division of Player Services and Experience; driving key team members to implement new programs, structures and efficiencies
Build relationships with teammates and understand the organizational priorities; bring a team together and move them in one direction to properly manage assigned projects from start to finish
Who You Are
Writing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as understanding appropriate tone of correspondence needed while delivering to different internal team members and stakeholders
Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work cross collaboratively with internal team members and stakeholders. You also need to possess the confidence to respond to difficult situations and collaborate with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.
Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise and execute communication strategies; familiarity with communication technology (ex. Teamworks) and the ability to create aesthetically pleasing communication assets
Program Management skills: A self-starter, always looking for people and projects that could use a helping hand.You will need to demonstrate proficiencies for overseeing program assignments from beginning to implementation; high attention to detail, ability to motivate fellow team members and drive productivity for program completion. Effectively balances responsibilities, handles conflicts and encourages communication on cross-functional programs
Additional Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience working across a combination of: player relations, athlete communications (inclusive of player networks ie agents, family, coaches) or a closely related field
