Owl Creek is a well‐established alternative asset manager that was founded in 2002 and manages $1.5bn across a variety of hedge and private fund structures. These funds include our “Flagship Funds”, which have an event driven value strategy and invest in long/short equity and distressed debt, and our “Credit Funds”, which invest across the capital structure, including in distressed or stressed bonds (convertible and non‐convertible), bank and sovereign debt, CDS, preferred stocks and other equities (post‐reorganization, distressed, and event‐driven), and trade claims. In addition, Owl Creek manages single investment “sidecar” funds and a drawdown fund. Our investment mandate is broad and presents unique and interesting challenges on a regular basis.

The Owl Creek team is comprised of approximately 30 individuals across investments, operations, accounting, legal, compliance, and investor relations. We have a team‐oriented culture with the Firm’s senior partners having worked together for over 20 years and many of the Firm’s professionals having been part of Owl Creek for over 10 years. The Firm actively seeks individuals who have a knowledge of the industry and are agile thinkers able to partner with others to analyze unique situations and advance the interests of Owl Creek’s funds and its investors.

Role:

We are seeking an Investor Relations professional with approximately 3-5 years of relevant industry experience to join the Owl Creek team. The Investor Relations hire will be integral to our client facing efforts, taking ownership of IR responsibilities while also providing relationship management / business development support, and assisting in various strategic and ad-hoc projects. This hire will report to the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations and partner with colleagues across the firm including the investment, compliance and accounting/operations teams to service and grow the client base. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage a broad assortment of investor relations inquiries including RFPs, DDQs, RFIs, subscriptions/redemptions and other information requests
• Liaise with investors, prospective investors and Owl Creek’s fund administrator on investor relations matters
• Work with the portfolio managers, analysts, accounting, operations, legal, and compliance to diligently respond to all investor inquiries in a timely manner
• Contribute to the fundraising process, involving customization of marketing materials, addressing follow-up projects from meetings and helping to organize prospecting activities
• Work alongside the Director of Marketing and IR to help strengthen and build relationships with existing and prospective investors spanning pensions, consultants, endowments, foundations, family offices and RIAs
• Develop expertise in Owl Creek’s investment process, portfolios and role in the alternative investment ecosystem
• Assist with and attend certain investment and operational due diligence meetings

Requirements:

• Experience in the financial services sector such as in IR, investment analysis, investment banking, accounting, or other similar roles
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to parse numbers and data to accurately respond to client inquires
• Effective communicator with the desire and capability to speak with clients when appropriate
• Exceptionally high standards of work output with a keen attention to detail
