Our assisted language device client looking for an experienced SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) who will function in a Funding Director role.

The Funding Director will play a crucial role in securing funding for assistive language devices, ensuring that individuals have access to the communication tools they need to thrive. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

This remote position requires support during West Coast hours, so candidates based on the West Coast of the U.S. are highly preferred. Must be able to travel to headquarters on east coast on occasion as required.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the funding authorization team, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and government agencies to navigate funding processes for assistive language devices.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility for funding and recommend appropriate communication solutions.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to secure funding authorization for assistive technology, including preparing and submitting documentation and appeals as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with funding sources, staying informed about changes in policies, procedures, and reimbursement rates.
• Provide training and support to clients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on funding options and requirements.
• Monitor and track funding authorizations, ensuring timely and accurate processing and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working as an SLP, preferably with experience in assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
• Strong understanding of funding mechanisms and reimbursement processes for healthcare services and devices.
• 10 years of experience in funding authorization or related role with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Experience working with remote teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Familiarity with assistive language devices and related software applications is preferred.
• Ability to travel to east coast offices as required
