Location: Hybrid, meetings on site in DC as needed.

Are you passionate about shaping and analyzing policies and regulations? We're seeking a Policy Analyst to research, evaluate, and develop impactful policy recommendations. If you're eager to influence outcomes and solutions, we'd love to have you on our team!

Position Description: The Policy Analyst, Senior conducts the analysis and development of federal government policy and regulation.

Minimum/General Experience: 8 years of federal government policy experience

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in an associated discipline

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Expert experience performing federal government policy and regulation analysis
  • Expert experience developing federal government policy and regulation
  • Excellent experience researching and collecting information to provide analysis of issues
  • Excellent experience compiling information and identifying potential outcomes and alternative solutions
  • Excellent experience developing policy documentation (e.g., white papers, policy review papers, policy directives, and handbooks)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills 
  • Effective in interpersonal relationship building and collaboration
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Experience supporting a federal contractor providing services to the federal government
  • Knowledge of federal civilian agencies (e.g., Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred), Defense Health Agency, Health and Human Services) (preferred)

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years

Federal Civilian Public Trust Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:

  • Covers 5-10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
  • OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
  • DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
  • National Agency Check (NAC) records
  • FBI name check
  • FBI fingerprint check
  • Credit report check
  • Written inquiries to previous employers and references listed on the application for employment
  • Potential interviews with the subject, spouse, neighbors, supervisor, coworkers
  • Law enforcement check
  • Court records check
  • Education check- Attendance and Degrees

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and develops federal government policies and regulations
  • Analyzes specific issues and identifies potential alternatives
  • Develops white papers, policy review papers, and policy directives and handbooks
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of policy and regulation
  • Supports implementation of policies
  • Supports detailed and thorough research to support federal government policy
  • Evaluates outcomes of new policies and regulations
  • Assists in preparation of reports, briefings, and documentation to support deliverables and work products
  • Supports various analytical tasks in support of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policy
