P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc. is Hiring an Event Sales Manager - Full-time Near New York, NY

Additional Job Description:

P.F. Chang’s is thrilled to debut our newest flagship P.F. Chang’s location in Union Square! This brand new location has an elevated look & feel with its luxurious design finishes and “theatre at the table” presentations. We are seeking a highly motivated Event Sales Manager to book this beautiful new event space for various market segments including corporate, conference, social, entertainment, public services, and tour & travel. 

The Event Sales Manager will oversee the booking, planning, and execution to ensure operational and culinary excellence of all planned events. We are seeking an entrepreneurial mindset who embraces grassroots marketing to help grow the business.

Core Expectations:

  • Orchestrate flawless event satisfaction and client satisfaction
  • Proactively solicit, plan, and manage event-related opportunities for a variety of market segments
  • Analyze clients’ needs, prepare event proposals, and negotiate costs while staying within budgetary constraints
  • Lead informative consultations with clients to understand vision and coordinate all internal and external resources
  • Lead weekly Event Order meetings with the Executive Chef, Operating Partner, and event support to review upcoming events
  • In partnership with the Operating Partner, participates in recruiting, hiring, and training employees
  • In partnership with location management, supervises, assigns, and delegates tasks to hourly staff members
  • Ensures that event lists, special requests, and order guides are complete and provided to the Executive Chef
  • Promote the brand in local and remote communities

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales event management experience
  • 2 years of restaurant experience and food safety certifications are preferred
  • Requires an entrepreneurial growth mindset that is focused on growing the restaurant’s event business
  • Deep sense of pride in operations and maintain solid employee relations with stellar guest satisfaction feedback
  • Strong understanding of soliciting event opportunities, networking both locally and remotely, cost of goods, and overall control of financials (P&L)
  • General systems proficiency is required
  • Knowledge and adherence to all federal, state and local laws, compliance regulations, and state safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Must be able to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours in length each shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, balance, and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly during a shift. At times it might be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Work to be performed from various locations including remote home office, restaurant environment, and/or other locations
