Our focus remains to provide our customers with the leading bark mulches on the market, however, we have expanded over the years to include a soil and compost line that is equal in quality, reliability, and transparency as well as contracting packaging for an array of customers big and small delivering throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Our ambition is to continue adding a wide range of products to our offering in hopes that P.R. Russell products become a must-have for garden centers and their customers as well as delivering our products with good customer service and creating a convenient experience.
Our consistent growth has created a need for a self-motivated and energetic team member who will aid in efficiently running 3 full automated packaging lines (packaging of mulch and soil bags).
Responsibilities & Job Duties:
Work efficiently with team members to operate 3 fully automated packaging lines which include packaging lines (sealer, printers, turner, flatteners, etc.), palletizer, wrapper, scaling, and inventory.
Operate the computer-controlled packaging line
Adjust/calibrate equipment throughout the manufacturing process to achieve product quality & efficiency to meet production goals
Troubleshoot & repair machinery as problems occur- MUST HAVE A PASSION FOR PROBLEM-SOLVING! You will be trained to perform mechanical repairs, test sensors & photo eyes, etc.
Work with Technical Support when needed
Perform regular & preventative maintenance
Actively maintain good housekeeping to ensure a clean & safe work environment (this position consists of constant cleaning around the machines which includes using air guns to remove debris from machines, sweeping & emptying damaged bag)
Operate a forklift to transport materials
Perform product tests & recordkeeping according to customer requirements
Physical inventory counts
Manually rebuild & rewrap damaged pallets
All other duties assigned

Experience working in a team setting
Must be mechanically inclined/have an interest in being trained
Interest in automation
Strong problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills
Good oral & written communication skills
Good record-keeping skills
Basic math skills
Ability to follow verbal directions
Willingness to learn multiple machines & directions
Ability to work with limited direction
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
40 hours; overtime available
Work indoors & outdoors in varied temperatures & weather conditions
Working at heights & confined spaces
Extended standing, walking, bending, and climbing of stairs
