PACDA is Hiring a Media Production Intern - Mandarin Speaking Near Irvine, CA

About us

PACDA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to promote Chinese dance education to help Chinese diaspora connect to heritage through dance, and younger generations develop cultural confidence and cultural identity. From Southern California to the world, we’re on a mission to celebrate diversity and heritage through the universal language of dance.

Internship Details

Duration: Mid-May to Early August (Approx. 10-12 weeks)

  • It will be hybrid until Mid-June when we will have in-person events (Taoli Competition, PACDA Summer Intensive)

Objective: Get hands-on experience in event management, cultural outreach, and promotion. Help us make a difference by supporting our mission to connect communities through dance and cultural exchange. Gain valuable skills, mentorship, and networking opportunities in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

Language Proficiency: English proficiency is required, while Mandarin Chinese is ideal. Your ability to communicate will play a vital role in engaging with participants, instructors, and staff.

Responsibilities

From the PACDA Summer Intensive to the Multicultural Dance Gala, you’ll be at the heart of major events shaping cultural exchange! Responsibilities will vary based on the position. Some include but are not limited to:

  1. Capturing and producing multimedia content (photos, videos, etc.) to document PACDA events and activities.
  2. Editing and curating event footage for promotional purposes, including highlight reels and recap videos.
  3. Designing visually appealing promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and social media graphics to promote PACDA events.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in photography and videography techniques.
  • Experience with video editing software and/or graphic design tools.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in storytelling through multimedia content.
  • High school diploma or higher
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for cultural exchange and the promotion of diversity through events.
