Pacific Construction is a general contractor firm that specializes in designing, building, and restoring commercial buildings. We are looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to join our construction team. With a minimum of 5 years or more experience in the commercial constructionindustry. Due to construction projects taking place in different states, cities, and counties, we are seeking a construction superintendent who is willing and able to frequently travel to oversee projects.

As a Traveling Superintendent you will oversee the daily on-site construction of the assigned project/s, managing all aspects of project/s, from planning and acquisition of materials and equipment to negotiating contract terms to creating a realistic schedule for construction and following the plan to completion.

What Skills you need to be a Successful Traveling Construction Superintendent for PacCon?

This high-performance individual will assume overall responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects within allotted time and budget. The TCS will answer to the Project Manager (PM) while overseeing subcontractors and work force teams.

Experience or knowledge of construction is an essential trait for a traveling construction superintendent:

- Ground-Up

- Steel frame

- Tilt Wall

- Commercial

- Construction

A willingness to travel frequently and the ability to operate in different cultures is vital to your success in this career. You may need to adjust to different ways of working from project to project.

The ability to plan and troubleshoot is also vital. Since you act as a coordinator between the different groups working on the project, you need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to ensure that all different groups involved in the project are working together effectively.

You also need strong computer skills in standard software like Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.

You should also have excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and experience managing complex projects.

Below is a list of responsibilities:

· Ensure safety protocols are strictly adhered to by the field team and sub-contractors so everyone onsite is provided with a safe working environment.

· Develop communication and relationships with clients, subcontractors, field team/s, Project Managers and Project Engineers.

· Responsible for upholding quality, tracking equipment and supplies, and completing tasks on time.

· Comprehension of construction plans and/or specifications related to the scope of work.

· Strict adherence to all Authority having Jurisdiction regulations and standards.

· Ensure the jobsite meets OSHA Safety standards;

· Review project drawings, specifications, scope, and review project docs / file organization. 

· Update, maintain and distribute weekly 3- week look ahead schedules.

· Host site meetings; weekly safety meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings.

· Depending on skills may be tasked to troubleshoot or complete minor repairs or adjustments needed to complete the job.

· Monitor quality of work, punctuality, and schedule inspections

· Development of requests for information and change events.

· Maintain and review punch list processes to ensure all are addressed and executed in a timely manner

· Reports to the Project Manager on a daily basis, especially when there are any occurrences that can affect the successful completion of the project;

· Exceeds client expectations for each project by understanding client needs, wants, preferences and culture;

· Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues;

· On site to oversee the construction process, anywhere on the West Coast

Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience, and drive that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the required duties.

· Ability to effectively manage stressful situations.

· Ability to lead yet effectively accept direction from the management team.

· Ability to time manage and work on multiple tasks and projects.

· Strong interpersonal and Self-starter 

· Capable of working in a team environment.

· Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges and effectively address conflict;

· Must be proficient in operating computer technology as it relates to business use; Pro-Core and Microsoft Project knowledge a plus;

Education:

· High school diploma or GED equivalent and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

· Minimum 5 years or more experience in the Commercial Construction Industry.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds.

· Ability to stand up to 60% of working hours.

· Ability to bend, stoop and lift large items.

· Ability to maneuver underneath equipment as needed.

· Ability to walk long distances

Work Environment/Conditions:

· Outdoors on-site at projects

· Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
